Hybrid technology – one and one make one!
In technology, the term 'hybrid' denotes a whole made up of different elements. The special feature here is that the interconnected components constitute a working solution in their own right, but it is only once they are combined that they are able to deliver utterly new and entirely positive properties.
In this respect, HyBlade® scores highly with the stability of a high-tensile aluminium alloy and the lightness and unrestricted shaping characteristics of plastic. The corrosion-resistance aluminium structure in the core of the HyBlade® blade assures a lasting connection to the rotor. Each blade is spray-coated with a sheath of glassfibre-reinforced plastic which imbues the blade with an aerodynamically optimum shape. More?
Whereas sheet metal components can only be shaped by stamping, bending or shaping, with plastics it is no problem whatsoever to create three-dimensional profiles. For example, it is now also possible to equip fan blades with aerodynamically styled 'winglets', most familiar from the worlds of motor racing and aircraft technology. These help to cut down on turbulence between blade and housing, enabling fans to run more quietly and with higher efficiency ratings.
The lightweight sheathing helps to further reduce the overall weight of the fan and also contributes towards yet further reductions in noise levels through its exceptional damping characteristics.
